Autumn no spend weekend

Autumn has to be one of my favourite times of the year. The air is becoming cooler and crisp, the trees are showing off their wonderful autumnal colours and I get to cover up with big coats and scarves. 😂

We don’t need to spend money to have fun with our children. So here’s a list for your family to make memories this season without over spending 😀🙌🏻

• Leaf hunt – take a bag or bucket to bring your leafs home for the next activity down below ⬇️

• Leaf picture

• Nature walk

• Bug hunt

• Bird spotting

• Pumpkin picking

• Pumpkin carving/painting

• Bake – cookies, cakes whatever you like!

• Try a new recipe – get everyone involved in helping to cook.

• Drink hot chocolate whilst watching hocus pocus/halloween town whatever your autumn favourites are!

• Make a bird feeder – used toilet roll holder, spoon peanut butter over the roll then dip in bird seed. Hang up with string anywhere you fancy ☺️

• Trampoline leaf jump – collect as many leaves as you can, scatter over your trampoline and jump jump jump😀

• Colouring books

• Rock painting – collect rocks, paint and hide them around your neighbourhood. You could even paint rocks with an autumn theme in mind 🙊

• Camp out in the living room watching all your favourite movies.

• Go on a bike ride

• Go on a picnic

• Stargazing – we take blankets and pillows on to the trampoline, lie down and gaze up at the stars. You can do this from anywhere though!

• Conker picking

• Go trick or treating

• Fly a kite

• Chalk pictures outdoors

• Visit your local library and take out some season books.

Is there anything else you like to do with your littles in autumn? Let me know ☺️

No spend weekend!

Hi guys!

First of all I just want to say thank you for taking a little time out of your day to pop over here and read my first blog post, I hope it gives you some ideas and helps you to plan a fun weekend with your children without breaking the bank 🙂

  • Nature walk – Great all rounder! Check out your local council for walks and trails near you. Children love being outdoors being able to explore and use their imagination, it tires them out without you having to do much, so what a bonus! ha.
  • Go on a bike ride – Great workout for the adults too!
  • Go to the park.
  • Go to the beach – Take a bucket and spade and you have hours of fun with the children making sandcastles.
  • Go to a museum – So many different museums around that only offer you to make small donation if possible. Just type in free museums in your area on to google and your good to go.
  • Bake cakes.
  • Gardening – The kids will love to help you plant flowers, dig up weeds and rake leaves.
  • Visit your local library.
  • Visit a pet shop – Manchester pets & aquatics is a firm favourite it’s like a mini zoo your children will love it!
  • Visit your local garden centre.
  • Wash your car – Kids will love helping you!
  • Movie nights.
  • Get creative – Painting, easy crafts, colouring.
  • Make mud pies- If you don’t mind getting messy!
  • Build a den – Indoors or outdoors.
  • play dress up.
  • Play dough.
  • Feed the ducks.
  • Fly a kite – Good old fashioned fun, gets the children outside and you will be surprised with how amazed your children will be when they are able to fly their  kite by themselves. (If you don’t already have a kite Argos do some great ones)
  • Read books.
  • Go on a leaf hunt – Collect leaves to make a picture with them when you get home.
  • Host a sleepover.
  • Chalk on your exterior walls or pavements – (rain or a bucket of water will wash the chalk away)
  • Festive car ride – At Christmas time we have a little tradition. We bath Luca, put his PJs on, take a blanket and go out for a night time drive. We drive around hunting for houses with Christmas lights & decorations up. It’s fun to make it into a little competition on who can see the most or first set of decorations. Such a simple activity that I’m sure your children will have special memories of as they grow up.

Let me know if you do any other free activities with your kids, I would love to try them out 🙂
